Absolutely! Bringing props or items that hold significance for your family can add a wonderful personal touch to the photos.

How do I schedule a family photo session with you?

Scheduling a session is a breeze! You can either book directly through my website or drop me an email. Together, we'll find a date and time that suits you best.

What locations do you recommend for family photo sessions?

While I have a list of preferred locations, I'm also open to your suggestions. Let's choose a spot that truly reflects your family's personality and style.

What should we wear for the photo session?

I recommend coordinating outfits rather than matching. Opt for a color palette that compliments each other. Comfortable clothing that mirrors your family's style is key.

How long does a typical family photo session last?

On average, a family photo session spans 45-60 minutes. This time frame allows us to capture a diverse range of shots and candid moments.

MORE FAQS

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know at least 48 hours in advance. I understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. We will do our best to get you rescheduled as soon as possible.

WHEN WILL WE RECEIVE THE EDITED PHOTOS?

You can expect the final edited photos to be delivered within a month. Busy season for me is September - end of November so editing times may be longer. Life does happen so if anything comes up I will reach out to you.

CAN WE REQUEST SPECIFIC POSES OR SHOTS?

Of course! I welcome your input and will do my best to accommodate any specific requests you have in mind.

how long does a typical in-home session last?

In-home sessions usually last up to two hours. This extended time allows for feeding, changing, and breaks for little ones. I understand that newborn sessions can be unpredictable, so I like to ensure we have ample time.

Do you offer digital files or prints?

Yes, I offer both. You will receive high-resolution digital files with printing rights, and I also provide the option to order professional prints and products within your gallery.

PREVIOUS FAQS

can we include extended family members in our session?

Yes, this would be what we call a generations session. This session has a base price then $10 per additional person outside of your immediate family.

What types of family sessions do you offer? Do you offer any other services?

Family sessions, in-home lifestyle sessions, and mini sessions are my most popular session types, as well as part-time postpartum doula services through Silver Linings Doula and Nanny Services.  I also offer milestone session for important times such as maternity, graduations, pregnancy announcements, crawling, walking, and birthdays. I also offer a generations session for your extended family.

do you provide props or outfits for the sessions?

For family, maternity, and newborn sessions you have access to my client closet, which is limited as I am still purchasing pieces. I do have many newborn props for my in-home lifestyle sessions like wraps, blankets, outfits, baskets, and bassinets, and I also have some chairs, crates, and a washtub, mostly used for mini sessions.

what if my children are not cooperating during the session?

Rest assured, it's perfectly normal for children to feel restless or shy. I have techniques to engage them and capture their natural expressions.I have a degree in education, have worked in many different childcare settings, and have been doing this for many years. I will do my best to work with them and create a fun environment, but not all kids will cooperate. You know your child(ren) best and it will be your responsibility to work with them on cooperating during the session. Many of my clients use bribery which works for most but not all.

can we bring our pets to the family photo session?

Absolutely! Pets are part of the family and the help create wonderful memories. Please note that while I am great with pets I can not always get them to cooperate in photos (kids can be this way too).

what's the difference between in-home, lifestyle photography and traditional studio photography?

In-home lifestyle is where I come to your home to document this time in your life. We will hang out on the couch, in the master bedroom, or in the nursery. I photograph you with your newest addition(s) as well as your spouse and siblings. These photos are to document this current season of your life.

Traditional studio photography is usually posed and can/cannot include the babies family. It is at a local studio where they have set backgrounds and props. This kind of photography is not my jam but I am happy to recommend some awesome local traditional studio photographers.

do you offer retouching or editing services?

I edit all of my photos that are delivered to clients. I do not, however, offer highly detailed edits like thinning, chin fat removal, etc, I am happy to outsource these to someone who specializes in this kind of editing.

what steps do you take to ensure the safety of newborns?

I am a certified postpartum doula as well as a mom of two spunky little kiddos. When I am not with my family or photographing families and babies, I am usually at someones home helping them adjust to the fourth trimester and care for their newborn. I am also currently enrolled in a newborn photography safety class.
